Chapter 29: My Name Is Zhu Ganglie

The Earth Escape Talisman plunged Han Yang headfirst into the soil, followed by a dizzying whirl that felt as if an invisible giant hand was mercilessly kneading his internal organs. The tug of the temporal chaos gave him a splitting headache. Before he could curse this cursed talisman’s random teleportation, he completely lost consciousness.
When Han Yang woke again, a faint herbal fragrance lingered at his nostrils. Struggling to open his eyes, his vision blurred for a moment before he clearly took in his surroundings.
A simple wooden hut with coarse beams, dried herbs hanging from the walls—everything exuded a primitive rustic charm. A young girl in rough cloth clothing sat by the bedside, carefully wiping his forehead with a damp cloth.
The girl was about sixteen or seventeen, delicate and fair, with bright, watery eyes full of concern. Seeing Han Yang awake, she exclaimed joyfully, “You’re awake! That’s wonderful!”
“Where am I?” Han Yang asked, his head still heavy and his throat parched and hoarse.
“This is Peach Blossom Village. My name is Xiao Lian,” the girl answered with a sweet smile, revealing two shallow dimples. “You were found unconscious at the village entrance and brought back by my father. You’ve been asleep for three days and nights.”
Han Yang forced himself to sit up and looked around, realizing he was in the village chief’s home. He tried to recall what had happened before he lost consciousness and couldn’t help but smile wryly—Old Lin Zhan, that devil, must be furious.
“Thank you for taking care of me, Miss Xiao Lian,” Han Yang said gratefully.
“You’re welcome,” Xiao Lian replied shyly, lowering her head. “Are you hungry? I’ll get you something to eat.”
In the following days, Han Yang settled into Peach Blossom Village. This remote mountain village was cut off from the outside world, where villagers lived a tranquil, self-sufficient life.
Han Yang noticed the spiritual energy here was extremely thin—almost imperceptible—making cultivation difficult. Yet the villagers were extraordinarily long-lived and physically robust, which piqued his curiosity.
Though highly skilled, Han Yang was no pampered noble. He helped the villagers repair houses and work the fields, quickly earning their affection. Seeing his youth, they warmly called him “Little Han.”
“Little Han, you’re so strong, even stronger than Big Zhuang in the village!” an old man marveled as Han Yang hoisted a thick timber, clucking his tongue in admiration.
Han Yang smiled quietly and said nothing.

Such weight was a mere trifle to him.
One day, while helping plant rice seedlings in the field, Han Yang suddenly heard cries of alarm. He looked up to see a group of villagers running in panic.
“Little Han! Trouble! Wild boars from the mountain have come down!” a villager gasped.
Han Yang frowned—wild boars? This Peach Blossom Village was truly primitive.
He followed the villagers to the village entrance, where a massive wild boar was rampaging, destroying houses and crops. The villagers, armed with hoes and sticks, dared not approach and could only watch from a distance.
Han Yang eyed the beast. How dare such a mere animal run amok here?
In a flash, he appeared before the wild boar. Startled by Han Yang’s sudden appearance, the boar let out a deafening roar and charged fiercely.
Han Yang stood his ground, neither dodging nor retreating, and unleashed a punch. His fist gleamed with golden light, packed with eight thousand years of cultivation—no ordinary boar could withstand it.
“Bang!”
With a muffled thud, the massive boar was sent flying like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily to the ground amid a cloud of dust. It let out a pitiful scream and scrambled to rise, struggling wildly.
This boar had twenty years of cultivation and was a dominant force in the mountain. Yet it recoiled in terror at the overwhelming aura from Han Yang—one that dwarfed even its late father, a fifty-year-old boar demon, by a hundredfold.
The wild boar immediately cowered, trembling on the ground. Using guttural grunts, it expressed submission and cautiously invited Han Yang to meet at midnight in a small grove behind the mountain.
Han Yang was slightly stunned—he actually understood the boar’s grunts. It wanted to acknowledge him as its big brother!
Unexpected indeed. After a moment’s thought, Han Yang agreed. Being in unfamiliar territory, it was wise to gather information; perhaps the boar could offer useful insights.
“Go now,” Han Yang said coolly.
The boar, as if granted a pardon, scrambled back into the mountain.
Returning to the village, Han Yang was surrounded by villagers praising his prowess.
“Little Han, you’re amazing! You sent that wild boar flying with a single punch!”

“Yes, we’re so lucky to have you in Peach Blossom Village!” they exclaimed.
Han Yang smiled modestly, “It was nothing.”
As night fell, Han Yang arrived at the grove behind the mountain as promised.
The boar was already waiting, accompanied by several smaller boars—apparently its family. The boar laid out some wild fruits and mountain delicacies before Han Yang as a gift to its big brother.
Han Yang accepted without hesitation and tasted one of the wild fruits. It was delicious, with a subtle sweetness and spiritual energy, even more flavorful than the spiritual fruits he had eaten before.
“Big brother, my name is Zhu Ganglie. These are just a little token from me, please accept them,” the boar said with a flattering grin.
“Hmm,” Han Yang nodded.
“Big brother, things haven’t been peaceful in the Ten-Thousand-Mountain Range lately!” Zhu Ganglie said, nibbling on a tender spiritual mushroom with a worried tone.
The smaller boars behind him also grunted uneasily, sensing the mountain’s unrest.
Han Yang raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Oh? What’s going on?”
“There’s a powerful and vicious demonic aura in the mountains. Many brothers have been scared away,” Zhu Ganglie whispered conspiratorially.
“This demonic energy is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in all my years,” he added solemnly.
“Demonic aura?” Han Yang repeated.
“Big brother, you’re so powerful. Could you help us investigate this demonic energy?” Zhu Ganglie rubbed his hooves and looked at Han Yang expectantly.
Han Yang smiled slightly; this boar knew how to curry favor.
“Sure, I’m free and can take it as a bit of fun.”
“Wonderful! Big brother, if you can solve this trouble for us, you’ll be the undisputed leader of the Ten-Thousand-Mountain Range!” Zhu Ganglie was so excited he snorted happily. The boar’s mate cast grateful looks at Han Yang and even nuzzled his feet affectionately.
The next morning, Han Yang bid farewell to the villagers of Peach Blossom Village. The old village chief clasped his hand, tears streaming down his face.
“Little Han, please be careful! The mountains are dangerous. If you don’t come back, what will become of Peach Blossom Village?”
Other villagers also expressed their reluctance to see him go, especially several young maidens who gazed at Han Yang longingly, wishing they could accompany him into the mountains.
