Volume One, Chapter 10: The Law of Fire, Late Stage of the Great Dao
Beyond this, the Sun Star, along with the Moon Star, is also one of the best places to cultivate the Yin-Yang Dao techniques.
However, Lin Yang chose the option with the greatest risk but also the greatest reward—the first choice, which meant facing the incarnate of the Ancestral Dragon. So, there was no need to dwell further on that.
After making his decision, Lin Yang no longer hesitated or worried about anything. His sole focus now was to defeat the Ancestral Dragon’s incarnation and seize the Cauldron of Creation.
Naturally, Lin Yang exerted every effort to enhance his own strength.
“System, reward me!” Lin Yang began to claim the rewards from his previous mission.
Instantly, a flood of profound insights into the Dao of Fire, derived from the Nine-Headed Ancient Poison Dragon, surged into Lin Yang’s mind.
It was as if enlightenment had been poured directly into his consciousness.
In a moment, Lin Yang felt as if he had become the Nine-Headed Ancient Poison Dragon itself, experiencing and understanding the Dao of Fire in nine distinct ways.
He then organized and synthesized these nine different insights into a single cohesive understanding.
This truly became his own comprehension of the Dao of Fire.
Suddenly, it felt as though Lin Yang had spent an unfathomably long time cultivating the Dao of Fire, elevating his grasp to an incredibly profound level.
The combined insights of the Nine-Headed Ancient Poison Dragon regarding the Dao of Fire could even rival Lin Yang’s own understanding of the Dao of Creation.
Now, in addition to his mastery of the Dao of Creation, Lin Yang also possessed the Dao of Fire.
It was as if his cultivation suddenly doubled, and naturally, his power steadily soared.
“Rumble!”
Lin Yang’s body trembled, and a formidable aura radiated forth, erupting like a volcano, as if a Fire Emperor was slowly awakening.
At this moment, even without deploying magical defenses, Lin Yang no longer needed to fear being scorched by the true solar flames.
With a movement, Lin Yang emerged from the Chaos Gourd.
He was seated cross-legged inside the Dragon’s Nest, surrounded by raging flames that surged in from all directions.
The dense solar flames streamed around him like countless rivers converging.
Like rivers flowing into the sea.
The flames continuously poured into Lin Yang’s body, instantly being converted into his own magical energy.
His cultivation and magical power both rose rapidly, the increments growing larger and larger.
The endless solar flames rolled back like a great vortex.
Lin Yang was like a bottomless abyss, endlessly absorbing the solar flames.
His aura grew ever more powerful.
From a distance, he appeared like a dazzling sun, brilliantly radiant.
“Boom!!”
After an indeterminate amount of time, the rolling back of the solar flames suddenly ceased.
An immense aura, seemingly accumulated to its utmost, burst forth explosively from Lin Yang.
At this moment, Lin Yang finally broke through.
He advanced from mid-stage Great Dao Golden Immortal to late-stage Great Dao Golden Immortal.
Lin Yang had not expected this.
Given his foundation of the Innate Gourd Vine transformation, reaching late-stage Great Dao Golden Immortal was only a matter of time.
But it should never have happened this quickly.
Unexpectedly, the system’s reward of the Dao Law insights granted him an additional Dao Law beyond the Dao of Creation.
Thanks to the blessing of the Dao of Fire, he was able to ascend directly to the late stage of Great Dao Golden Immortal.
The speed of this breakthrough was truly astonishing.
Perhaps this was the exhilarating feeling of “cheating” in cultivation?
A single person mastering two great Dao Laws—the surge in power made Lin Yang feel somewhat euphoric.
After all, the opponent he was about to face was the Ancestral Dragon’s incarnation, which the system ranked as virtually invincible below the level of Primordial Golden Immortal.
Previously, his only hope was the Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger to defeat the Ancestral Dragon’s incarnation.
But now, with mastery over the Dao of Fire, Lin Yang’s chances had significantly improved.
Especially since he was on the Sun Star, where the Dao of Fire gave him a natural combat advantage.
“Now, my odds are even better. And as for the nine ancient poison dragons, come forth!”
With a single thought, Lin Yang summoned the Nine-Headed Ancient Poison Dragons from the Chaos Gourd.
Though their intelligence was lacking, they were formidable fighters, especially on the Sun Star.
Since he was to battle the Ancestral Dragon’s incarnation, he could not afford to leave these allies behind.
The Nine-Headed Ancient Poison Dragons roared as they descended again onto the Sun Star.
Now, however, they were absolutely loyal to Lin Yang and would never defy his orders.
Just as they had once obeyed the Ancestral Dragon while lurking on the Sun Star.
Preparing for the upcoming battle, Lin Yang ordered the ancient poison dragons to begin training.
They practiced a Nine Palaces Formation, which allowed their powers to overlap and connect.
Though it could not multiply their strength ninefold, it far exceeded their individual combat abilities.
Moreover, this formation allowed them to share pressure and damage evenly.
When the time came, as long as they assisted Lin Yang by restraining the Ancestral Dragon’s incarnation, and he seized the opportunity to strike with the Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger from the Chaos Gourd, victory would be highly likely.
The wait for the Ancestral Dragon’s incarnation was not long.
A master of the Ancestral Dragon’s caliber would not take countless thousands of years to travel from the Eastern Sea to the Sun Star.
If it did, the opportunity would have long passed, let alone ruling the entire Primordial Era.
In the cultivation hierarchy of the Primordial Era, starting from the Immortal level upwards, the ranks are Earth Immortal, Heavenly Immortal, True Immortal, Profound Immortal, Golden Immortal, Grand Golden Immortal of the Taiyi, Great Dao Golden Immortal, Primordial Golden Immortal, and finally the Primordial Great Dao Golden Immortal.
Each successive rank requires a far greater leap, especially from the Great Dao Golden Immortal stage, when one begins to grasp the laws of heaven and earth.
The divine powers and Dao techniques wielded through these laws are often inconceivable.
Naturally, masters at this level do not travel merely by flying.
Their movement embodies the profound mysteries of the Dao Laws.
For instance, those who comprehend the law of wind can travel by riding the wind; those who understand the law of earth can earth-walk; those who grasp the law of fire can flame-walk.
Those who comprehend the law of wood can wood-walk... and if one masters all five elements, they can perform the Five Elements Great Escape.
There is also the Light Escape technique, one of the most common forms of movement, almost every great being in the Primordial Era masters some form of Light Escape.
This is why it is often said that certain great beings "ride the escaping light."
This escaping light is a kind of light-based escape technique.
A famous example is the Golden Crow Clan’s Golden Crow Rainbow Transformation, a Light Escape technique.
Besides these, there are numerous other escape arts—Yin-Yang Escape, Thunder Escape, Spatial Escape, and so forth.
For every Dao Law, there exists a corresponding escape technique.
Only the weak waste time traveling on main roads.
When one reaches the level of Primordial Great Dao Golden Immortal, the saintly tier, a single thought can envelop the entire Primordial Era with divine consciousness.
A single step is enough to descend upon any place within the vast world.
This is true divine power.
Though the Primordial Golden Immortal and Great Dao Golden Immortal still have some distance to the Primordial Great Dao Golden Immortal, their divine powers are nonetheless extraordinary.
The Ancestral Dragon’s incarnation, rated by the system as virtually invincible below the Primordial Golden Immortal level, would not take long to travel from the Eastern Sea to the Sun Star.
