Chapter 11: The Year She Was Kidnapped, Lin Yu Was No Longer Lin Yu
(Page 1 of 3)
The more Fu Jiajin thought about it, the more she felt she had become superfluous.
Even the way she left had seemed almost like an escape, as though she were fleeing from something.
Hearing the tremendous slam of the door, Fu Jiahui smiled.

Fu Suiyu finished the homework her teacher had assigned, then reviewed what she had studied before finally taking a break.
In this life and her last, she had gone more than fifteen years without studying.
Now Fu Suiyu felt as if her brain were about to explode from all the learning.
It was practically collapsing.
She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. She had remodeled the room, replacing the pink bed linens. Some of the stuffed toys had been put away, while others had been donated.
Only a few truly important things remained—
things that carried sentimental value.
Fu Suiyu did not think there was anything wrong with what she had done. On the contrary, it served as a reminder.
Memories from her previous life suddenly surged into her mind.
Without even properly putting on her shoes, Fu Suiyu dashed toward the small villa.
Just as she had expected.
Lin Yu had found Lin Xiangge.
She did not know where she had found the courage. She had clearly seen that glowing, talking sphere of light.
But when she remembered that her second brother might end up an old bachelor with no one to care for him, she rushed forward anyway.
Where was the fragile, innocent little flower Lin Yu had pretended to be before the four young masters of the Fu family?
At that moment, every movement she made and every word she spoke proved that she was a monster.
Lin Yu instructed the system to keep watch on their surroundings.
Then she turned her gaze toward Fu Suiyu.
“You really did install a surveillance system on me, didn’t you? I came to reminisce with my sister, and you still had to come disturb us. Can’t you read the room at all?”
“Reminisce? What a load of nonsense. You’re the only one who believes it. Didn’t Fu Jiahui say that no one was allowed near this place? And yet you still dared to sneak over here. You really are courting disaster.”
Lin Yu seemed to hear something amusing.
She slowly approached Fu Suiyu.
Ignoring the question, she said, “Do you know that when I first met you, you were still very young—only about a year old, weren’t you?”
“Your parents spoiled you from the time you were little, but they also raised you properly. Yet did they truly love you? If they loved you, why would they find you another sister? Haven’t you ever wondered whether this body of mine might really be related to you by blood?”
“You’re young, so you don’t understand men. But I, your elder sister, have spent years roaming among them without ever being tainted. Men are creatures I understand better than anyone.”
“Let’s see who will be the last one standing.”
“Oh, and that second brother you remember has changed a long time ago. Now he’s nothing more than a dog at my side, coming when summoned and leaving when dismissed.”
“He’s nothing at all.”

Lin Yu’s smile was ghostly and terrifying.
Watching her retreating figure gradually disappear, Fu Suiyu suddenly let out a long breath.
Lin Yu had been frightening just now. She had spoken to her with a smile on her face, but in reality, a knife had been pressed tightly against her throat.
Lin Xiangge suddenly poked her head out.
She welcomed Fu Suiyu inside and looked her over from head to toe.
“Are you all right?”
“I’m fine!”
Lin Xiangge brought Fu Suiyu a cup of hot water.
“Little sister, don’t get into a confrontation with her because of me. She’s nothing but a lunatic!”
Fu Suiyu was baffled. Her gaze fell on Lin Xiangge as she examined her from every angle.
“Why would you say that?”
“I saw her kill someone. There were surveillance cameras everywhere, but somehow none of them recorded anything. Isn’t that terrifying? It’s absolutely terrifying!”
“Whom did she kill?”
Fu Suiyu sprang to her feet and stared intently at Lin Xiangge.
“Tell me. Whom did she kill?”
“Her grandmother!”
Fu Suiyu’s mind began replaying everything she knew about Lin Yu.
Her mother had been mentally ill. She had been sold to Lin Xiangge’s father, and after giving birth to Lin Xiangge, she had been deceived and taken away by her own family, who sold her once more—this time to a household deep in the mountains. There, she gave birth to Lin Yu.
Unfortunately, Lin Yu was a girl.
Moreover, because Lin Yu’s mother had suffered a terrible fright during the delivery, she was left unable to bear any more children.
After that, she was chained up like a dog beside a pigsty.
All of it had been because of Lin Yu’s grandmother—
a vicious old woman with a heart of pure malice.
Yet she had possessed astonishing longevity.
Lin Yu had grown up little by little, stumbling forward but stubbornly surviving. Fortunately, she had a clever mind.
When her father was carrying out charity work, he saw Lin Yu—a tiny girl filled with tenacity, like a blade of grass that would never surrender. Given even the slightest chance to survive, she would grow with wild determination.
And so Lin Yu entered the Fu household, where Fu Suiyu’s parents treated her as their own daughter.
The four brothers were delighted to have a little sister, and the young Fu Suiyu was happy at last to have an older sister of her own.
Everything seemed to be moving in a better direction.
As long as Lin Yu was there, Fu Suiyu was no longer afraid of anything.
Not even death.
Until the very end, Fu Suiyu had never once doubted Lin Yu.
Later, she had nearly misunderstood her, believing her to be an ungrateful wretch who could never be won over.
Fortunately, she had eventually seen Lin Yu for who she truly was.

She had learned that everything—every last thing—had been the work of that soul from another world.
It had seized control of her sister Lin Yu’s body and committed one monstrous act after another.
How could she ever have thought such things about her beloved sister?
Fu Suiyu could not imagine what kind of supernatural powers and cunning schemes that soul possessed to harm people without leaving a trace.
Lin Xiangge called her name several times before finally bringing Fu Suiyu back to her senses.
Being forcibly torn from those memories was not easy.
Fu Suiyu was drenched in sweat. Her eyes were vacant, and her lips had gone pale.
Lin Xiangge looked at her anxiously.
“Second sister-in-law, I’m fine.”
The moment the words left her mouth, Lin Xiangge’s face flushed all the way to the tips of her ears.
Only afterward did Fu Suiyu realize what she had just said.
She stared at Lin Xiangge’s burning face.
“I—I know your name. I heard about you when my brother started his second year of high school.”
Fu Suiyu suddenly said, “I’m sorry.”
“I’m truly sorry. Please forgive my second brother. He really didn’t do it of his own free will.”
“I know. I knew even before you appeared that something must have happened. Otherwise, how could such a good person have changed so quickly?”
Lin Xiangge gripped Fu Suiyu’s hand.
“Do you remember?”
“When your father found me, he wanted me to save Lin Yu!”
“That year, she and your third brother were kidnapped. Do you remember?”
A thread inside Fu Suiyu’s mind suddenly snapped.
In an instant, she stared at Lin Xiangge.
“The kidnapping—I remember.”
“Before your father found me, Lin Yu and I already knew that the other existed. We had even added each other as friends on QQ. But after Lin Yu woke up, she no longer remembered me. She had even forgotten that QQ account.”
Fu Suiyu frowned as she stared at Lin Xiangge.
In a panic, Lin Xiangge rose to her feet, found her phone, and swiftly unlocked it.
She pointed to a profile picture.
“This was her QQ account. We used it to chat all the time—to encourage each other and share our lives. But after she regained consciousness, she treated me like a stranger. The first thing she said when she saw me was, ‘Thank you.’”
Fu Suiyu finally understood.
So, after that kidnapping, the person inhabiting Lin Yu’s body had no longer been Lin Yu.
It had been an invader.
A merciless invader who would stop at nothing.
