Chapter 27: The Protective Brother Goes Online

The group erupted into an uproar, everyone talking over one another to defend Mu You.

"What? Cyberbullying? Are they out of their minds?"

"What is wrong with this world? Sister You is the kindest person I’ve ever met—is she really being cyberbullied?"

"I suspect someone is slandering You-bao on purpose. Otherwise, how could public opinion shift so drastically for no reason?"

They began to speculate about who could be behind this, trying to target Mu You with such horrific online abuse.

"The sudden shift in the netizens' attitude must be the work of a puppet master; it’s clearly the work of hired trolls."

"Whoever came up with such a malicious scheme must truly loathe Sister You, which is why they’re going for the kill."

"So, we just need to find that person who hates her so much, teach them a lesson, and make them apologize to her!"

Jin Yiyi, the "senior" of the group who had entered the entertainment industry years ago, was quite experienced. "Mu You has such a sweet personality, and she hasn't really been in the public eye before. Logically, there shouldn't be anyone online who hates her that much..."

As she spoke, Zhong Yao suddenly stopped. Her eyes darted toward someone in particular. Everyone else followed her gaze instinctively. The implication was self-evident.

That’s right. Mu Weien was the one who hated Mu You more than anyone!

Although they hadn't spent much time together and barely knew each other, in everyone’s eyes, Mu Weien truly detested Mu You and was always bullying her.

"Y-you guys! That’s too much!"

Even if Mu Weien was slow on the uptake, she could understand the implication behind their hesitant glances. Yet, she was indeed the person in the program who hated Mu You the most and wanted to see her crushed beneath her feet. Even if she had decided to change, she couldn't erase her past words and actions. So, Mu Weien lowered her head in humiliation, gritting her teeth, unable to find a way to refute them.

Seeing the "little tyrant" so quiet, everyone felt a bit unsettled. In the past, Mu Weien would have caused a scene to make everyone miserable. Had she really turned over a new leaf?

"Weien, I believe you."

Mu You broke the silence. Her expression was sincere and earnest. Her eyes, in particular, were bright, brimming with an overflowing sense of trust.

Mu Weien’s mouth hung open. She couldn't believe that even after she had treated her so poorly and bullied her, Mu You would say she trusted her. A strange, inexplicable feeling stirred in her heart.

"Well, the bird attack on Mu Weien was so sudden that none of us were prepared," Jin Yiyi continued to analyze. "And she lost so much hair; she’s been with us ever since she was rescued and hasn't had contact with anyone else. It couldn't have been her!"

"We’re all just kids; we don't have the power to hire trolls to stir up a cyberstorm," she added. "So the mastermind must be an adult—an adult who hates Mu You. Who could it be? Could it be the director? Or..."

Mu Weien beat her to the answer. "Don't guess anymore. I know who did it."

Everyone turned their eyes to her again. This time, there was no skepticism, only curiosity.

"I don't know how to say it..." Mu Weien bowed her head in shame, not wanting to face their gazes, and even less willing to face Mu You. She thought, *Mu You being cyberbullied must be Dad’s doing!* After all, her father owned a company involved in internet operations, he despised Mu You and wanted her out of the house, and he was an adult with the power to make it happen!

Jin Yiyi and the others exchanged looks, realization dawning on them. It was the Mu family! They didn't care for Mu You, and they had the means to do it!

"They're all children of the Mu family—why would they do this?" Zhong Yao asked, completely bewildered.

"I don't get what they're thinking. Are they trying to destroy You-bao? Is their heart made of filth?" Lin Zimu was so angry he almost cursed, but Jin Yiyi quickly stopped him. They wanted to protect Mu You’s feelings and didn't want her to be hurt by her family’s cruelty, but they couldn't suppress their own anger, so they continued to grumble in hushed tones.

Standing to the side, Mu Weien felt, for the first time, a sense of annoyance and fear regarding her family's actions. She hadn't really understood what "cyberbullying" meant before, but she had just felt it firsthand! Those people didn't even know Mu You, yet based on words online, they had rushed over to throw stones at her. It was truly terrifying!

If she were the one being cyberbullied, Mu Weien didn't even want to imagine how much it would hurt to have those stones thrown at her.

Wu Liang walked over after dealing with the uninvited guests. "What just happened was an accident. For safety, don't post anything online about today's events once you go back. You've all worked hard today. Go home and rest for a few days; I'll notify you in advance for the next shoot."

Just like that, the young guests were taken away by their respective agents or family members. The departure was abrupt; they didn't even have time to exchange contact information and had to wait until they met again.

After Mu You and Mu Weien returned home, several things happened. For instance, Li Jiaojiao’s bee sting reaction was so severe that she had fallen into a coma again after a brief moment of consciousness, requiring an extended hospital stay. Then there was the fact that Mu Weien had lost her temper with Mu Yao, screaming "I hate you, Dad!" through tears before running back to her room.

Her actions left Mu You, Mu Yao, Xu Ya, and Mu Weiyi in shock.

"Did you upset En-bao again?" Mu Yao, incapable of self-reflection, immediately pointed the finger at Mu You, his favorite punching bag.

"Uncle, Weien made it very clear: she hates you. So, it was you who upset her, not You-bao." Mu You bowed politely but distantly before turning away, heading to her small bedroom and locking the door.

She touched her racing heart, trying to calm it down. This was the first time she had formally stood up to her uncle! Even though she was nervous, she felt happy.

"You brat, did I tell you that you could leave? My temper is reaching its limit!" Mu Yao wanted to rush in and drag Mu You out, but the thought of Mu Deyan and Qi Han returning soon forced him to restrain himself.

At dinner, Mu Yao looked at Mu Weien’s empty seat and wondered, *How angry is my precious girl that she’s refusing to eat?*

He then looked at Mu You, this heartless jinx, who actually had the nerve to sit there and eat despite being cyberbullied. *Don't you dare spread your bad luck to the whole family!*

"Stop eating! You won't eat until En-bao agrees to eat!" Mu Yao habitually denied Mu You her meal, not even allowing her water.

Mu You was about to resist again when Mu Weien charged in like a little leopard. "Bad Dad! You are not allowed to treat Sister You-bao like this!"
