Chapter 46: Brutally Slaughtering the Dragon Soul, Saving God-Slayer and Yue

Following the onlookers who gathered to watch the excitement, Lu Ming arrived at a patch of woodland, where a large crowd had already formed.

Peering through the crowd, he saw two factions of players locked in a stalemate within the trees ahead.

They were none of them other than members of Godslayer and the Dragon Soul guild!

Dragon Soul held an absolute numerical advantage, with forty to fifty members present, every single one of whom had reached level 30 or above!

In contrast, Godslayer had a mere dozen or so members left, and all of them were only around level 20.

Clearly, a battle had broken out between the two sides shortly before.

The dozen or so Godslayer players had already been defeated, thoroughly suppressed by Dragon Soul’s high-level players, and were now on the brink of death.

Their leader, the 19-year-old assassin Godslayer Yue, was forced to drop to one knee, her left hand supporting her bleeding right shoulder.

Evidently, the situation on the field was extremely unfavorable for Godslayer.

At this moment, a 35-year-old Ice Armor Knight named [Dragon Soul Skydestroyer] was standing right in front of Godslayer Yue, pressing the sharp tip of his spear directly against her fair cheek.

"Someone saw with their own eyes that your Godslayer people killed seven of my Dragon Soul high-level elites in the Fallen Lands last night! Do you still want to deny it?"

Dragon Soul Skydestroyer’s words caused Lu Ming, standing among the onlookers, to experience a slight start.

He had not expected that the events of last night would leak out after all.

Yet judging by the current situation, the Dragon Soul members likely did not know that Lu Ming was the one who had killed their people; they only knew that Godslayer members had appeared in the Fallen Lands last night and therefore assumed Godslayer had committed the murders.

What surprised Lu Ming even more was this:

Faced with Dragon Soul Skydestroyer’s interrogation, even though her life hung by a thread, Godslayer Yue chose not to betray Lu Ming. Instead, she remained defiant and righteous, "I said our Godslayer people didn't kill them, so we didn't kill them. I have no need to explain myself to you."

Lifting her head, Godslayer Yue stared fixedly at Dragon Soul Skydestroyer with her cold, fierce eyes, and said sharply, "Do you know who I am? If you dare to lay a hand on me, just try!"

Dragon Soul Skydestroyer was clearly not someone easily intimidated.

Unfazed by Godslayer Yue’s threat, he let out a cold, disdainful snort and said, "Who do you think you are? Your Godslayer people killed my Dragon Soul members first—a life for a life is only right and natural!"

"Even if the higher-ups from your side come investigating, we have justice and reason on our side!"

"It's a pity, such a pretty face is about to vanish from this world."

Just as Dragon Soul Skydestroyer raised his spear, preparing to thrust it through Godslayer Yue, a voice suddenly rang out from behind:

"I killed them. It has nothing to do with her."

Dragon Soul Skydestroyer’s attention was successfully drawn away.

Yet when he turned his face and saw the speaker was none other than Lu Ming, a look of contempt involuntarily crept across his face.

"Do you even know what you're saying?"

"Just you? You expect me to believe you could kill the 30th-level elites of my Dragon Soul guild?"

It was no wonder Dragon Soul Skydestroyer looked down on Lu Ming; after all, Lu Ming had only just reached level 17.

Even the surrounding onlookers cast mocking glances toward Lu Ming.

"Trying to play the hero to save the damsel in distress—I can understand wanting to climb the social ladder, but at least weigh your own weight before doing something like that! These days, anyone dares to step up and play the hero?"

"A mere level 17 Array Tactician actually daring to claim he killed seven level 30-plus elites of the Dragon Soul guild? Anyone with half a brain wouldn't spout such brainless nonsense!"

"A dead pig isn't afraid of boiling water, I suppose. Looks like another good show is about to start!"

Meanwhile.

Having been suppressed by Dragon Soul and nearly killed by Dragon Soul Skydestroyer, Godslayer Yue’s heart had remained completely unmoved.

Yet at the very moment she saw Lu Ming step forward to shield her, her heart gave a fierce, violent jolt.

After a mere second of being touched, however, Godslayer Yue was so exasperated she almost laughed: "What a complete idiot! He's completely wasted this sister's good intentions..."

At this time, Dragon Soul Skydestroyer looked Lu Ming up and down.

He couldn't help but shake his head.

"It's not that I look down on you."

"But honestly, I've really tried my best to imagine what special extraordinary traits you might possess, but forgive me, I simply cannot fathom how a level 17 Array Tactician could possibly kill seven players over level 30."

"Care to demonstrate for me right now?"

Hearing Dragon Soul Skydestroyer finish his sentence, Lu Ming calmly replied, "Alright."

As the words fell, he silently reached back and placed his hand on the scabbard at his back.

Draw sword—

*Swoosh-clank!*

The instant the sharp blade cleared its scabbard, a lightning-fast sword shadow pierced straight through Dragon Soul Skydestroyer's body.

The next second, a massive damage figure of 6,113 points instantly wiped out fully one-third of the health bar of Dragon Soul Skydestroyer, a 35-level Fourth-Transition Knight!

Before Dragon Soul Skydestroyer could even react in that exact split second:

*Hum!*

Multiple overlapping blood-red marks appeared across his chest.

The next moment,

*Slash, slash, slash, slash...*

Six Necromancer Generals, appearing from nowhere, instantly flashed in front of Dragon Soul Skydestroyer. Enduring the War Stomp aura released by Lu Ming, they raised their hands and brought their swords down.

Six Soul-Shattering strikes simultaneously erupted with over 2,200 damage each, instantly emptying the remaining two-thirds of Dragon Soul Skydestroyer's health bar.

At that moment, the entire area fell dead silent.

Left with a mere 1 point of health, Dragon Soul Skydestroyer stared wide-eyed in disbelief at Lu Ming before him.

Meanwhile, just as the remaining Dragon Soul players in the rear guard prepared to move into action,

They suddenly saw countless Necromancer Generals tearing through space from all directions, surrounding them entirely!

Instantly, all weapons were drawn and bows pulled taut.

Even though they clearly saw that this group of Necromancer Generals was only level 17, the powerful aura emanating from them still caused the level 30+ Dragon Soul players present to wear looks of utter terror.

Not a single person dared to make a rash move!

After all, just a second ago, they had witnessed with their own eyes how a mere handful of Necromancer Generals could effortlessly defeat their boss, Dragon Soul Skydestroyer.

Right now, with so many Necromancer Generals surrounding them, if they all attacked simultaneously, their entire squad would likely be wiped out right here!

Without Lu Ming's command, the entire force of Necromancer Generals held off on any attacks, using only their overwhelming presence to pressure the Dragon Soul players.

At this point, Lu Ming looked at Dragon Soul Skydestroyer and said casually, "Do you believe I killed them now?"

Dragon Soul Skydestroyer swallowed hard.

It was unimaginable that he, a 35th-level Fourth-Transition Knight, had almost been instantly killed by a level 17 Second-Transition Array Tactician!

Yet Dragon Soul Skydestroyer knew very well: if the opponent hadn't intentionally toggled PK mode (under PK mode, attacking any player would not deal fatal damage, leaving the target with 1 point of health), he would already be a corpse right now.

Even though he was still alive, the six Necromancer Generals—standing all around him with their eyes glowing a deathly ghost-light beneath their metal armor—could easily take his life with the flick of a finger.

Under such terrifying deterrence, cold sweat soaked through Dragon Soul Skydestroyer's back, and he didn't dare to move even half an inch!

Lu Ming then continued, "Let me recount the entire sequence of events from last night."

"Last night, your Dragon Soul people kidnapped someone of mine. Godslayer members saw it and told me. I went to get the person back, but your people tried to kill me to silence me. In self-defense, I killed them back."

"That's how it happened. Understood?"

With that, Lu Ming sheathed the Sword of the Brave and turned to leave, taking Lin Youwei with him.

At the same time, all three hundred and forty Necromancer Generals across the field followed their master away.

Only then did the group of Dragon Soul players on the scene finally manage to exhale a breath of relief.

"So that's how it is! Dragon Soul kidnapped someone's girlfriend, and the guy flew into a rage and killed their people in self-defense? Well, then they totally deserved it!"

"I've long heard Dragon Soul is full of scum, but I never knew it was true! A dignified top-six guild in Grand Xia actually doing such shameless things~"

Faced with the whispering and murmuring of the surrounding onlookers,

Dragon Soul Skydestroyer's old face flushed red with embarrassment. He barked orders at his subordinates, "Investigate this thoroughly! If it's truly as that Array Tactician said, we will show no leniency to the seven who died last night! Immediately cancel all compensation payments to their families!"

Though he spoke this way on the surface in front of the crowd,

Dragon Soul Skydestroyer glared with murderous intent at Lu Ming's retreating figure.

He quietly instructed his trusted subordinates in private: "No matter what methods you use, I want Godslayer Yue and that Array Tactician dead within 24 hours."

"Understood!"
