Unfortunately, before Fang Zhiyi could arrive with Wang Lin and the others at the Dou Xie Sect, that group came looking for them on their own. A crowd appeared, surrounding Fang Zhiyi, Wang Lin, and Li Muwan tightly.

“Everyone, the elders of the Dou Xie Sect request your presence. Please come with us.”

Though they said “request,” their tone bore no respect—on the contrary, it seemed as if they were prepared to forcibly drag the trio away if they refused.

No wonder this place was called the Demonic Sea; their methods were so brutal. But that suited Fang Zhiyi just fine. She exhaled quietly, knowing that when it came time to strike, she would show no mercy toward such people.

To conceal that she was the real leader and because the others already believed Wang Lin was the strongest among the three, Fang Zhiyi stayed just behind him, lowering her head to appear like a delicate, fragile woman.

Her demeanor was no different from Li Muwan’s beside her, which left the Dou Xie Sect members restless with desire.

They salivated as they led the three forward.

Wang Lin’s expression was cold, and he truly wore that indifferent mask. Among the group was a younger boy, who looked barely beyond the Foundation Establishment stage. He glanced at Fang Zhiyi and Li Muwan, then sidled up next to Wang Lin.

“You’re really lucky. Where did you find such beautiful women? Teach me, big brother.”

Wang Lin shot him a cold glance before replying, “None of your business.”

With that, Wang Lin accelerated sharply, flying forward until he vanished from sight. The young boy scratched his head, utterly confused.

Helpless, he turned and flew up beside Fang Zhiyi. To maintain the ruse, Fang Zhiyi was playing the delicate woman—naturally slow, trailing at the back of the group.

Even Li Muwan was a body length ahead of her.

“Young fairy sister, how did you come to fancy that aloof, cold-faced brother in front?” the boy asked.

Fang Zhiyi was stunned, not knowing what he meant.

Before she could respond, she noticed Li Muwan glance back at her with a strange expression—something worrisome, she suspected.

Seeing this, Li Muwan smiled shyly and said, “We just like his demeanor.”

The boy tilted his head in puzzlement but soon nodded, “Cold faces attract girls, huh? Got it.”

A Foundation Establishment boy was hardly worth attention. Fang Zhiyi silently whispered to Li Muwan, “Ask him how he managed to survive in the Demonic Sea at that cultivation level without being devoured.”

After Li Muwan asked, the boy chuckled. “You want to know that? My parents were cultivators from the Demonic Sea. I was born there. It’s strange, but perhaps being born there means it affects me less.”

Fang Zhiyi pondered silently.

The boy continued, “There’s no place in the Demonic Sea I haven’t been to.”

Fang Zhiyi’s thoughts lingered on the place where she had encountered the ferocious beast. She wondered if this boy had been there.

But even if he had, it didn’t matter. That beast was powerful; this boy would be no match for it.

...

Soon, they arrived at the Dou Xie Sect’s territory.

Perhaps they had long awaited the news, for the sect’s entrance was already crowded with people, all waiting for Wang Lin and the others.

When the three arrived—especially Fang Zhiyi and Li Muwan—everyone’s eyes shone instantly, bodies stirring with restless anticipation.

No wonder it was called the Demonic Sea; here, no rules existed. Strength alone ruled.

Before long, a disheveled man flew up to face Wang Lin and the others. This man was at the Nascent Soul stage, his eyes piercing, staring hard at the trio as if trying to bore a hole through them.

As a Nascent Soul expert, he was far from the weaklings around him and immediately sensed something was off about Fang Zhiyi.

He couldn’t discern her cultivation, which was the biggest problem.

The man looked at Fang Zhiyi and said, “Fight me.”

With that, he drew his long sword, pointing it directly at Fang Zhiyi without hesitation. His gaze was ruthless, as if he could devour her in an instant.

But Fang Zhiyi paid no mind to his stare. A mere Nascent Soul cultivator was hardly worth her attention.

She sneered coldly, “Is everyone from the Dou Xie Sect gathered here?”

The man nodded slightly. “Of course.” Then, looking at her as if she were a fool, he said, “What’s this? Have you taken a fancy to someone from our Dou Xie Sect?”

His words drew laughter from the crowd, filled with disdain.

“Good,” Fang Zhiyi said, raising her hand and pointing her index finger at the man, her face icy cold. “Die—”

A long moment passed, and nothing happened. The man laughed loudly. “What are you trying to scare us with?”

He completely dismissed her.

Suddenly, screams came from behind him.

Startled, the man turned to see, with horror, that the people behind him had vanished—all in an instant.

Their clothes remained, but their bodies had disappeared.

Those around them wore expressions of shock, as if witnessing the impossible, some trembling.

The Dou Xie Sect was a major faction in the Demonic Sea, formed by criminals so heinous they had no other refuge.

Because of that, they had committed all manner of evil. For them to be frightened like this meant something truly serious had occurred.

What on earth had happened?

The man looked at Fang Zhiyi with confusion and said, “You demoness, what have you done?”

Fang Zhiyi ignored him and waved her hand. One by one, people on the left and right also vanished.

But this time, the man witnessed everything clearly.

The scene was revolting: people disappearing like blood mist in the Demonic Sea, but he could see their agonized faces.

Their mouths seemed sealed shut; though their expressions were pained as if torn apart inside, no sound escaped.

The sight filled everyone with dread.

The man’s gaze toward Fang Zhiyi no longer held calm; it was like he had seen something terrifying.

“Who exactly are you?”
