Chapter 57: Motorcycles Again

Seeing the situation, Xiao Zigang thought to himself that the moment of truth had come. The stainless steel pipes thrown by Dajun would be blocked by the table Yu Hu held. Seizing the moment when Dajun’s old strength was spent and new power had yet to manifest, Yu Hu delivered a brutal punch with his coin-clenched fist. Dajun, lacking any other moves, was likely to lose this round.
Just as Xiao Zigang was about to call for a halt, a sudden roar of motorcycle engines filled the air. A chilling sense of danger washed over him. He pressed Xue Qiang to the ground and shouted, “Everyone, be careful!”
Boom! Boom boom boom...
The door was smashed open, glass shattered as one motorcycle after another burst inside. All the riders wore black leather jackets and black helmets. These uninvited guests immediately drew their guns and opened fire. The drivers in the conference room scattered in panic. Any secret schemes or hidden agendas vanished instantly in the face of mortal threat.
Gunfire erupted in a relentless barrage. Some people were hit, blood gushing out, filling the room with the stench of violence. The rapid turn of events caused Dajun’s expression to darken. Casting a glance at Yu Hu, he said, “I’ll kill, you protect!”
Yu Hu nodded heavily, swung the table at one of the motorcycles, and rolled toward Xiao Zigang. Dajun’s arms flailed, six stainless steel straws flying out: two pierced through a gunman’s helmet visor, two penetrated another’s shoulder, and the remaining two struck a motorcycle’s fuel tank, which began to leak gasoline.
Many had heard of Dajun’s ferocity but never imagined it to be so fierce. Under his hidden weapons, helmets and fuel tanks were as fragile as paper. Seeing Dajun’s formidable combat skills, the gunmen turned their barrels toward him, unleashing a concentrated barrage.
Dajun immediately rolled away from Xiao Zigang, drawing most of the fire. Years of military discipline had ingrained obedience and command-following in him. Now that he regarded Xiao Zigang as his leader, unconditional obedience was certain.

Scrambling and rolling, Yu Hu finally reached Xiao Zigang’s side without hesitation. “Boss, if I die here today, I hope you’ll send some compensation to my mother...” Xiao Zigang had already drawn his gun and fired at the riders. Amid the gunfire, he shouted loudly, “As long as I’m alive, two thousand a month for your mother.”
Though the sum sounded modest, its longevity and reliability made it believable to Yu Hu. Had Xiao Zigang promised thirty or fifty thousand upfront, Yu Hu would have doubted it. With this assurance, Yu Hu grabbed two tables and said, “Boss, I’ll charge forward to draw their fire, you sneak around the side.”
Looking at the wooden tables, Xiao Zigang knew they were not bulletproof; Yu Hu was risking his life for a slim chance. Pulling Yu Hu aside, Xiao Zigang asked, “Do you know what your biggest difference with Dajun is?”
Yu Hu’s eyes clouded with confusion. At such a critical moment, shouldn’t survival be the priority?
Without beating around the bush, Xiao Zigang answered, “From today on, remember this: offense is the best defense!”
Though it sounded wise, Yu Hu couldn’t grasp its practical meaning before a sudden thunderous crash interrupted them. A van burst in abruptly, its window rolled down, revealing a bald man wearing sunglasses, who began firing bursts from a rifle.
There were eight gunmen on motorcycles, all armed with small pistols. Two had already been taken down by Dajun. Now, facing Zhou Huajian’s rifle, the gunmen’s initial contempt turned to caution, then to shock.
Legends of sharpshooters were common, but encountering one was truly deadly.
Motorcycles were large and conspicuous, as were their riders. The difference between a rifle and a pistol was clear: a longer barrel, longer bullets, and greater lethality. Zhou Huajian’s bullets were engraved with cross patterns to maximize damage—one hit was fatal.
The once swaggering gunmen scattered like frightened mice. Yu Hu finally understood what it meant that offense was the best defense. A sharp spear could shatter a faltering shield, leaving no room for counterattack—only death under the rifle’s aim.
Yu Hu was no fool; his mind was sharp. Seeing Zhou Huajian controlling the battlefield, he immediately knew what to do. He urged Xiao Zigang, “Boss, hide well. I’ll be right back.”
With that, Yu Hu charged like a wild horse, grabbed the tail of a motorcycle, and lifted it off the ground. The speeding bike lost balance and crashed heavily.

Yu Hu showed no mercy. His left foot stomped on the gunman’s arm, while his right foot swung like a powerful soccer shot, striking the helmet squarely.
Bang! The struggling gunman collapsed motionless.
Yu Hu knew life offered few moments of glory. Now, in front of Xiao Zigang, he had to be brave—his future depended on it.
Spotting another accelerating motorcycle trying to escape, Yu Hu strode forward, swinging his broad hand like a fan, smashing it against the helmet.
Thud!
The dull thump echoed heavily. The gunman on the bike flew like a struck baseball, completing a wild arc before crashing hard onto the ground.
Yu Hu’s physical prowess was extraordinary—his strength at its peak, far surpassing Dajun’s. Dajun’s face showed no jealousy, only satisfaction. The younger generation was pushing forward; Yu Hu was a valuable asset. Having him as Xiao Zigang’s driver was excellent.
The gunfire ceased. The conference room was a chaotic mess. The wounded groaned, while the survivors dared not even breathe. It was unbelievable—two unarmed men had taken down an armed motorcycle gang.
Xiao Zigang felt no relief; instead, a lingering fear gripped him. Luckily, he wore a bulletproof vest. Even grazed by stray bullets, he was safe.
He resolved to buy bulletproof pants next—if unavailable, at least bulletproof briefs!
It was terrifying. A single misstep, even if not shot directly, a stray bullet wound could leave irreversible scars.
Contrasting with others’ anxiety, Yu Hu displayed a brave heart, stepping before Xiao Zigang and asking, “Boss, do you think I’m qualified? Can I be your driver?”
Xiao Zigang nodded firmly. “Alright, alright, it’s you...”
