Ten thousand years ago

Long after the war had ended, peace on earth hurled the abyss of evil to the farthest reaches away from the continent’s space. In that place, many heroes and demons lay dead, many beasts and humans who perished in battle. There was no peace or happiness to follow the war—only endless, unchanging slaughter prevailed.

He had long since forgotten how he survived that war. When he came to, he could only maintain his original form: a deep crimson hound, burning hot as flame.

“Are you all right?”

His eyes fluttered open. A small girl was gently stroking his brow, her face as translucent as polished jade, veiled in a soft, ethereal glow. She pressed a golden pill into his mouth, tears like strings of crystal pearls slipping from her eyes.

“Don’t you have a father or mother either?” she sighed, then smiled. “But I have an older brother—he’s very good to me. He gave me this medicine and said it would strengthen my divine power, perhaps it will heal your wounds.”

He no longer had the strength to speak, but the one who had always kept company with pride and coldness now felt an unfamiliar sensation. He almost wanted to tell the little girl that he, too, had a brother—his brother would soon return to take him home.

“Goodbye, my name is Pandora. Get well soon!” The little girl waved as she left, a bewitching smile on her face.

The Goddess of Life, Alice, gazed with confusion at the passing gods and beasts, as if the whole world, in a single moment, had stretched out her life indefinitely.

At the end of the winding, shadowy stairwell, a chill wind brushed the handsome face of a man standing on the mountainside. He drew a long, sighing breath. “Diallo, it seems disaster will soon reach us here.”

Unmoved, Dial remained calmly at his side, following his brother’s gaze forward. “Brother, what is it you fear?”

“I fear that His Majesty Hades… will die!” In his usually gentle, azure eyes flashed a trace of coldness, mingled with a cruel, almost playful glint. Diallo only smiled serenely. He was about to speak when his brother interrupted, “Where is our youngest?”

He knew his brother did not truly fear for Hades; if anything, he was more concerned about when the god would perish. A trace of indulgence and arrogance flickered across Diallo’s usually indifferent face. “He is standing guard in Princess Pandora’s palace.”

“Go tell our youngest that from now on, I, Baal, have no further need for brothers or subordinates who serve Hades.” Slowly, he turned with a smile. Beyond the many layers of space, a massive explosion sounded—the princess of the sea, Powell, had triumphed…
