The people around them instinctively cleared a spacious area, nestled between towering mountains and flowing streams in the back, and dense forests ahead—a truly picturesque setting.

Yet, the fierce hostility between the two men cast an intimidating aura, sending chills down the spines of onlookers.

“Keep fighting, Wind Chaser!” Hua Rong shouted without hesitation, her passionate cry once again striking a heavy blow against Jun Yeli. He couldn’t help but glare at her, muttering curses under his breath. “That foolish woman, always being used by villains. She shouldn’t have saved you!”

Though his words were harsh, there was no turning back now.

“Stop muttering and fight!” Wind Chaser gripped his long sword and launched the first attack. The two men continued their relentless battle.

Hua Rong clasped her hands anxiously, while Cui Liu watched calmly, her confident gaze stirring a slight irritation.

At some point, she leaned toward Hua Rong, nudging her with her elbow and teasing softly, “You’re quite lucky—two men are fighting to the death for you. If this continues, one of them is bound to die!”

“If anyone’s going to die, it’ll be your man!” Hua Rong shot him a sharp glare, then shuffled sideways like a little crab, instinctively trying to put some distance between herself and Cui Liu. After all, that woman was no good.

As expected, Wind Chaser lost the first round, and naturally, the second as well. Once again, he fell behind.

Their swords crossed, each blade pressed against the other’s throat. With the last ounce of strength, neither could gain the upper hand.

“What exactly did you say to Rong’er? Why is he so devoted to you?” Jun Yeli gritted his teeth, each word dripping with increasing intensity, as if trying to force his opponent into a corner.

He knew he had never received such attentive care from Hua Rong, and yet a stranger had taken advantage of it. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, feeling utterly uneasy.

In response, Wind Chaser sneered coldly, “I didn’t say anything to her. It’s your own actions you should reflect on, along with that woman who kidnapped Hua Rong. Snakes and rats in the same nest. And now you still treat her like a fool? Such shameless deceit!”

Hearing this, Jun Yeli glanced toward Cui Liu, who stood with her arms folded, her gaze drifting between the two combatants. A faint smile curled at the corner of her lips, irritating to behold.

He then looked back at Wind Chaser and suddenly said, “Let’s make a deal.”

“What do you mean? I’m not one for playing mind games!” Wind Chaser was naturally wary of this sudden proposal.

But in the next moment, he was met with a cold, mocking tone: “With your skills, you can’t beat me. If I truly wanted to kill you, do you think I’d be so roundabout?”

“So what’s your point?”

“Help me put on a show.”

Jun Yeli muttered quietly, and Wind Chaser looked somewhat surprised. “Do you think he’s serious?”

Judging by his resolute expression, this was no joke.

Clenching his teeth, Wind Chaser wasted no courtesy. Seeing Jun Yeli’s momentary lapse, he seized the advantage, thrusting his sword into Jun Yeli’s abdomen. Then, without hesitation, he pushed him into the abyssal pond.

“Hua Rong, I’ve taken care of the toughest one for you. The rest is up to you!” he warned as he plunged into the water.

A splash echoed, and the two locked in fierce combat sank into the depths together.

A streak of blood spread across the water’s surface, fiery red and dazzling to the eye.

The sudden scene left everyone stunned, even Huang Rong and the two guards almost leapt in after them in excitement.

They knelt at the water’s edge, shouting anxiously, “Young master! Are you alright?”

Bubbles surfaced briefly before the water stilled completely.

“Oh dear, it looks like Wind Chaser took the young master down with him. What a passionate and valiant young hero!”

Cui Liu’s lips curved into a brazen smile. She propped her chin on her hand and swayed her graceful figure mockingly.

Her words grated on the ears. One of the guards turned, scowling, “Now is not the time for sarcasm! You claim to be familiar with this place. Is there no way to save them?”

“Honestly, I’ve never been here before either. But if someone falls in, why not just jump in to save them? What else is there to consider?”

With a teasing air, Cui Liu stepped beside Hua Rong and suddenly grabbed her arm. “See? After all this back and forth, no matter how many people fight tooth and nail for you, you still end up in my hands.”

“Let go of me!” Hua Rong struggled, sensing something was wrong, but it was futile.

Meanwhile, the two guards finally caught on. “You’re not really the hunter’s daughter here. Could it be that you’re the one who kidnapped the lady?”

They had doubted it before, but now, faced with Cui Liu’s true colors, they had no choice but to believe it. But it was already too late.

A mocking laugh echoed beyond the valley, sharp and grating.

“Hahaha! You fools, all puppets dancing at my fingertips—pathetic! The two strongest are dead. Do you really think you can stand against me?”

As she spoke, two darts suddenly flew from her hands, hurtling toward the guards.

They barely dodged in time, the darts grazing past their skin.

The close call was thrilling. “You know martial arts!”

Judging by her skill, she was no mere amateur. She could certainly hold her own against Wind Chaser. But now, with both men lost beneath the pond, only the blood spreading on the surface remained, painfully vivid.

“Don’t display your ignorance so blatantly. Without some martial skill, could you survive in this cursed place?”

Her voice chilled, and Cui Liu swiftly drew a small dagger from her sleeve, charging at them with deadly intent.

Hua Rong stood frozen, staring at the still pond, waves of emotion stirring within her. “After all this effort, would he really sacrifice himself for me alongside that man?”

She watched as Cui Liu pressed the two guards relentlessly back. Now, all hope was truly lost.
