"It's Monroe, what a coincidence to see you here," Zhang Guoguo said, following the rhythm, her face lighting up with excitement as she turned to Luo Minglang. "It's rare to run into an old friend. I have a few things I'd like to catch up with her about."

Luo Minglang eyed Chen Monroe warily. "I'll wait for you over there."

"Alright."

Zhang Guoguo walked over, and Chen Monroe, all smiles and bubbling with excitement, affectionately linked arms with her and led her aside. "Guoguo, I never expected that after a few years apart, you'd become the wife of the richest man. What good fortune you have."

The words made Zhang Guoguo uncomfortable. Once they were far enough from the others, she regained her composure and lowered her voice. "If you have something to say, just say it. I prefer directness."

"It's nothing really," Monroe replied. "I was just surprised by how efficiently you handled things. In such a short time, you achieved a result even better than I'd expected. So, to keep you from slipping up in front of Luo Minglang, I thought I'd give you a few words of advice."

"Go on."

"Luo Minglang, Gu Yiqiao, and I all studied finance and economics together at Cambridge. So, if Minglang brings up our university days or starts asking specific investment questions, you'd better be prepared. And no matter what, don't let anything slip, understand?"

"Do you really think threatening me will work?"

"Maybe not in the future, but for now it does—because you're feeling guilty."

With a fearless smile, Guoguo replied, "Sorry, you must not know me well. In this life, I hate being threatened more than anything."

With that, she left without another word. Though Monroe was displeased, she simply folded her arms and watched as Luo Minglang helped Guoguo into the car, then left.

This was truly the first time Zhang Guoguo realized the three of them had been classmates. While she had played the part of Gu Yiqiao's wife, she had known nothing of his earlier life in England. Yet from Monroe's tone, she sensed things weren't so simple—especially considering Monroe had tried to persuade her to stop the wedding.

Luo Minglang observed his wife, lost in thought, and took her hand. "That junior of ours just now—I don't seem to remember her."

"Oh, that's normal. Back then, she was very introverted and didn't like interacting with people, so we rarely saw her outside of class. We mostly kept in touch by email."

"I see," Luo Minglang nodded, drawing her into his arms and kissing her forehead. She looked up at him. He trusted her completely, not a shadow of doubt in his eyes. Yet inside, her heart was troubled.

After all, she had been using this body to deceive him, even deceiving him in matters of love. Was this really right?

A sudden sense of guilt welled up inside her. Yet, if she was to have her revenge, she had to pay the price. And her price was to remain forever bound to this body, giving this innocent man before her everything he wanted.

Back home, while Luo Minglang was showering, Zhang Guoguo searched through the study's drawers and found a photo album.

Inside were many pictures of the three of them in their youth, from high school to university. But she noticed one thing: in all the photos, Zhang Guoguo and Gu Yiqiao stood close together, leaving Luo Minglang off to the side. Especially in the last photo—Zhang Guoguo was gazing at Gu Yiqiao with all the longing of a girl infatuated with a boy. In that look, she found the answer she was seeking.

Luo Minglang came in, wearing his bathrobe, and saw his wife sitting there, staring at the photo of her and Gu Yiqiao, lost in thought. His heart ached.

"You… about him—"

"Remember, you are my husband now." Zhang Guoguo cut him off, stood up, pulled out that photo, tore it to pieces, and threw it away. Then she embraced him and said softly, "Minglang, you are the one I want to grow old with. The past deserves a proper goodbye. For the rest of my life, it's only you I want."
