Lan Ruoting looked up, and her astonishment grew even deeper. If the three people above were all supreme experts, she would have accepted her defeat; yet, two of them possessed not a shred of spiritual power. The only reason their presence had escaped her notice was that the spiritual energy radiating from the young girl sitting to their left had completely masked them.

She was a girl with hair as black as night, yet from the shoulders down, it shifted into a striking, eye-catching white that cascaded to her waist, giving her a most unique appearance. The girl possessed a pair of mesmerizing eyes, as enchanting as a silver fox; even Lan Ruoting, herself a woman, felt three parts intoxicated and seven parts dazed just by a single glance from her.

"Hehe, look, she’s stunned too," the silver-bell-like laughter rang out once more. "But only you two are truly extraordinary. I have never seen a man like Young Master Wu, who has eyes only for you, Miss Gan. And you, Miss Gan, are the same; although you are still a bit shy, one can clearly see that your eyes hold only Young Master Wu. Hehe."

Sitting beside her on the tree were none other than Wu Luohua and Gan Yu! This was the reason for Lan Ruoting’s immense shock.

"Miss Yu, you are teasing me again. I won't pay you any mind," Gan Yu said with a coquettish pout. The tone of her voice made it clear that they were close friends, devoid of any hostility.

Wu Luohua, however, said with shameless enthusiasm, "Exactly! Miss Yu is absolutely right. My feelings for Yu'er are as eternal as the sea and as firm as the mountains; my heart will never change." At these words, Gan Yu’s face flushed an even deeper shade of crimson.

"Hehe, truly a match made in heaven," the one called Miss Yu laughed again. Suddenly, a flicker crossed her eyes, and a silent streak of spiritual energy shot from her hand. With a soft *puff*, a small spirit-bird fell from the sky. She remarked, "Little sister, your tracking skills are indeed impressive, but even if you found us, don't you think it’s a bit low to be sending secret messages like this?"

Lan Ruoting’s pretty face turned red. She had already lost her composure, but the conversation between the three had snapped her back to reality. She had immediately released her spirit-bird to alert her head senior sister, never expecting to be caught and have her bird struck down. However, as a prized disciple of the Five Great Spirit Sects' Yihua Gate, Lan Ruoting steadied her heart and asked, "Was it you who saved them?" She was clever; she asked about "saving" them. If the girl admitted it, it would prove she was not with Guihai City, and it would be highly likely that she was not an enemy.

"I did. Why do you ask?" Miss Yu replied. She turned to Wu Luohua and Gan Yu, saying, "You two lovebirds, let’s go down, shall we?"

"Ah, Miss Yu, I have a small request. Would that be alright?" Wu Luohua suddenly spoke up.

"Oh? What is it?" Miss Yu looked at this unique man with interest.

Wu Luohua coughed and said, "Miss, you go down first. I would like to stay alone with Yu'er for a little longer."

"Hehe, you really are something. I’m quite envious." Miss Yu giggled and drifted downward. As she descended, she added, "But I happen to love playing the matchmaker. Hehe."

The moment she finished speaking, Miss Yu stood beside Lan Ruoting and replied, "I saved them. Do you have something to say, young lady?"

Lan Ruoting cupped her hands in a manner befitting a grand sect disciple. "I am a disciple of the Yihua Gate. These two were abducted by the Guihai family to threaten their friend, Mo Bai, into destroying my sect. Since you saved them, you cannot be a friend of the Guihai family. And if you are not their friend, then you are a friend of the Yihua Gate."

"You mean me?" Miss Yu pointed at herself and looked at Lan Ruoting with those captivating eyes.

"Yes," Lan Ruoting replied instinctively.

"Hehe, no, no. First, I am not a friend of the Guihai family, and second, I am not a friend of your Yihua Gate. I saved them because they remained loyal to each other in the face of death, not because of either of your factions," Miss Yu laughed. Her tone then shifted. "However, I am interested in this Mo Bai you speak of. What kind of person could be used as a threat and possess the power to destroy an entire sect? I wonder if this person could compare to Brother Qing."

Lan Ruoting was stunned; she simply could not keep up with the thoughts of this girl, especially with those enchanting eyes! Suddenly, she heard Wu Luohua shouting from the tree, "Miss Yu, please bring us down!" He then muttered to himself, "Damn it, I never thought our capture would lead to Mo being threatened. Damn it, damn it all."

Miss Yu looked up at them. "Hehe, you're in a rush? Oh, it seems this Mo Bai really is an interesting character. I think I’ll head to Guihai City to see him first. Hehe." Without waiting for the three of them, she vanished in a flash of pink, flying toward Guihai City.

"Hey! We're still in the tree!" Wu Luohua shouted.

"Let that cute little sister from Yihua Gate help you! I’m in a hurry!" Miss Yu’s voice drifted back from afar.

Wu Luohua wiped sweat from his brow; this Miss Yu was truly unfathomable. He called down to Lan Ruoting, "Little Junior Sister from Yihua Gate, could you help us?"

Lan Ruoting finally awoke from her daze. Watching the pink silhouette disappear, she let out a long sigh of relief—if she had to fight that person, she would likely have collapsed. Her mind shifted, and she said, "Young Master Wu, rest assured, I will bring you down. But you must promise me one thing."

Wu Luohua was taken aback. "What is it?"

Lan Ruoting’s eyes flickered as she released a spirit-bird. "Young Master Wu, Guihai City is in total chaos looking for you. But do not worry, Brother Mo is safe for the moment. As long as we reach him before the Spirit Rise Tournament begins tomorrow morning, there will be no trouble."
