Although Fernanda appeared drowsy at this moment, a closer look revealed that his eyes were sharp and alert, with no signs of dark circles.

Fernanda stammered, "I'm just the type of person who doesn't look tired, but in reality, I'm exhausted."

The man who heard his excuse didn't probe further; he was on the verge of a mental breakdown himself and had no energy to worry about Fernanda.

Just then, a man walked over from the gate, panting heavily. Judging by his attire, he was a courier. Long Mengting spotted him the moment he appeared and trotted over.

Seeing her approach, the courier pulled a massive box from his back.

"Hello, this is for Mr. Wesford. Are you here to sign for it?"

Long Mengting ignored him completely and lifted the heavy box with one hand. "You're done here. You can get lost." With that, she turned to leave.

The courier suddenly grabbed her arm.

"Young lady, this is Mr. Wesford's package. It requires his personal signature, and besides, it hasn't been paid for yet."

Before he could finish, Long Mengting slapped his hand away. The sheer force of the blow sent him flying, launching him straight over the hillside.

"Death-seeking fool."

Long Mengting muttered, then carried the package toward the workers.

"Come on, treats for everyone. Look at how exhausted you all are." She opened the package, which was filled with a neat row of small bottles.

While the workers looked on, confused, Long Mengting spoke up.

"This is a drink that will keep you awake. One bottle each. Drink it."

They all realized these were likely illicit drugs, but intimidated by Long Mengting’s overwhelming presence, they each drank a bottle.

As they swallowed the liquid, everyone began to act erratically, as if the fatigue of the night had been instantly erased.

Those who had been working for so long had been suffering from aching backs and sore muscles, but after the drink, the pain vanished, and they felt more energized than ever.

Long Mengting was satisfied with their reaction. "If you're energized, get back to work. Finish early, and you'll be set free."

She left one thing unsaid: set free in the truest sense of the word.

Most of the group drank the beverage, but there was one exception: Fernanda.

He secretly poured his share away and pretended to be energetic, but cold sweat streamed down his face uncontrollably.

"If I had known there was no way to run, I never would have come here."

Watching the moon in the sky gradually turn full, his heart hammered in his chest. He had a secret—a secret no one else knew.

He was actually a werewolf.

He had discovered this around the age of eighteen. Having lost his parents at a young age, his background was a mystery. But on his eighteenth birthday, when the moon was full, he lost his mind and transformed into a werewolf for the first time.

That night, the entire town suffered, and he was found and rescued by the police, presumed to be a survivor. Since then, he discovered a pattern: whenever a full moon appeared in the sky, he would transform into a werewolf.

At first, he thought it was cool, and after several transformations, he learned to retain his sanity. However, he later discovered the downsides of his condition.

For reasons unknown, other werewolves had done things that made everyone want them dead.

The first enemies he had to face were vampires. Both were special, supernatural beings, but werewolves and vampires were sworn enemies.

After one transformation, he was targeted by three vampires who had been hunting him. After narrowly escaping death several times, he realized that these vampires were extremely sensitive to the scent of a werewolf. As soon as he transformed, they could track him down inexplicably.

He was sensitive to their scent only after he transformed, but before that, he could sense nothing.

He was trapped here now, and the moon was about to become full. If the vampires sensed him, he would have no chance of survival.

As he thought this, Long Mengting walked over, looking fierce.

"What are you thinking about? Get back to work!"

Hearing her, Fernanda couldn't dwell on it anymore and went back to work. Staying here meant he might be killed by vampires after transforming, but if he tried to escape, he might be blown to pieces on the spot.

Time passed, and the renovation of the ancient castle began to take shape. Under Long Mengting’s intense supervision, the workers were desperate to finish, so the work progressed quickly.

In truth, the renovation wasn't as massive an undertaking as it sounded; it mostly involved painting and installing some horror-themed props.

They didn't need to touch the interior, which was already a chaotic mess filled with skeletons and the like.

With the castle modified in this way, combined with Feng Tianlin’s "Eyes of the Void," the horror effect was maximized.

Suddenly, the moon in the sky turned full, and Fernanda’s body began to change.

His eyes grew bloodshot, his hair turned coarse, and his breathing became heavy and ragged.

A man nearby noticed his distress and patted him on the back. "Brother! Are you alright?"

Having consumed that drink, the man was in a manic state, wearing an exaggerated grin and speaking at a deafening volume. More importantly, he couldn't control his strength, and his pat was incredibly forceful.

Fernanda had already grown terrifying fangs, and in his werewolf state, he was extremely irritable. Being patted twice was enough to send him into a rage.

He whipped his head around, baring two rows of fangs that could never belong to a human.

The man was terrified, falling backward onto the ground and pointing at Fernanda.

"You... you..."

Before he could finish, Fernanda reached out with both arms and gripped the man's throat, squeezing until the last breath of life left his body.

Long Mengting, who had been playing on her phone, blinked and looked at Fernanda.

"Supernatural aura fused with a human one?"

She rushed over to the new specimen, full of curiosity.

Fernanda had fully shifted into his werewolf form, his head now that of a wolf, snarling at Long Mengting.

Seeing him look over, she calmly took a photo with her phone.

"Not bad, you actually turned from a useless human into an E-class supernatural creature."

Werewolves were sensitive to bright light, so when Long Mengting’s flash went off, he instinctively shielded his eyes with his arm.

Long Mengting, having captured a satisfactory photo, sent it to Ruan Miao while saying, "Since you killed a man, you'll have to do the work of two. Now that you're an E-class creature, doing the work of two shouldn't be difficult, right?"

Fernanda, now completely enraged, let out a howl at the moon.

"Awoooo!"

Then he lunged at Long Mengting.

He thought, *What of it? You're just a little girl who knows some martial arts and has a bit of strength? I'm in my werewolf state now; my abilities are beyond anything a human could compare to.*

Just as he felt confident and prepared to kill her, Long Mengting slowly lifted her head.

"Oops, I forgot I'd been hiding my aura. You've been underestimating me."

As she spoke, her aura shifted abruptly, changing from that of an ordinary little girl into a supernatural creature with B-class strength.

Under the pressure of an aura several levels above his own, the werewolf instantly regretted his actions. Based on the power difference, he had no chance of defeating her.

But it was too late.

Long Mengting lightly raised her hand and slammed a fist into Fernanda's wolf head.

Fernanda’s entire body flew backward, his head following the momentum, before he crashed heavily to the ground.
