Chapter 129: The Vampire
Long Mengting walked over to Fernanda, crouched down, and looked at him with a grin.
"Little puppy, do you still want to work?"
Fernanda nodded quickly upon hearing this. "Work! I'll work!"
Long Mengting nodded in satisfaction. "That's better. Only obedient puppies are good puppies."
Prior to this, at the foot of the mountain, a group of police officers was gathered around the corpse of a delivery driver.
"There are witnesses who say this person fell from the manor up there. Should we..."
Before the officer could finish his sentence, another interrupted him.
"Are you crazy? That is the Wesford estate. If you go up there, I swear in the name of the God of Justice, neither you nor your family will survive the next day."
"Then what should we do?" The officers were at a loss.
A slightly older sergeant stroked his chin, appearing unusually calm.
"A delivery driver accidentally fell down the hillside while making a delivery—that sounds perfectly reasonable, doesn't it?"
His words were accepted by all the officers, and the matter was left at that.
Snow began to fall from the sky. It was the first time Long Mengting had ever seen snow, and once it had accumulated sufficiently, she used it to build two snowmen.
Looking at the two snowmen, she put her hands on her hips proudly. "Well, look at that! I actually have quite a talent for art."
She immediately took a photo of the snowmen and sent it to Ruan Miao, but Ruan Miao was clearly unsatisfied after receiving it.
"What kind of snowmen are these? They aren't scary at all. Are you even a supernatural entity?"
Long Mengting was stunned by her words and asked, "Then how do you think a snowman should be built?"
For the next hour, the two of them debated how to make the snowmen more terrifying. An hour later, two snowmen that satisfied both of them were finally finished.
Both snowmen possessed exaggerated, twisted smiles and sharp, piercing eyes. With Ruan Miao’s understanding of horror, the creepiness of the snowmen was taken to a whole new level.
It is no exaggeration to say that if an ordinary person got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and saw these, they would likely wet themselves on the spot rather than make it to the toilet.
Just as Long Mengting was smilingly admiring her masterpieces, a gust of wind blew by and knocked both snowmen over.
Her smile froze on her face. She turned around to see three pale-faced figures with bat wings flying toward Fernanda.
The wind generated by their wings had knocked over her snowmen.
These were the three vampires who had been hunting Fernanda. They had flown over the moment they sensed his aura. One was D-rank and two were E-rank; Fernanda was certainly no match for them.
Fernanda had already sensed the accursed vampires. His fur had become sharp, and he prepared for battle, suddenly realizing that he was no longer afraid of death.
However, the vampires clearly did not want to waste time fighting him. The D-rank vampire pounced, pinning him to the ground, and no matter how he struggled, he could not break free.
Just as the three vampires were about to finish off the werewolf, a little girl appeared.
She glared angrily at the three vampires. "You stinking bats! Not only did you knock over my snowmen, but now you're bullying my labor force!"
All three vampires looked at her, their eyes glowing with a red light.
A Hua-Xia human? A Hua-Xia human with noble blood? Such a delicacy was rare and hard to come by.
They immediately shifted their targets, attacking Long Mengting, as each of them feared that such a prize might fall into the hands of the others.
Long Mengting was speechless. Why did such overconfident fools keep coming to throw their lives away? She was getting tired of it.
She used her "Horror Claws" to enlarge her arms and delivered three casual slaps, as if swatting mosquitoes.
In the next second, the three vampires, who had been lively just a moment ago, were transformed into three puddles of blood, leaving Fernanda staring in shock.
Long Mengting glared. "What are you staring at? Get back to work!"
Fernanda nodded hastily and resumed his chores. He hadn't expected this little girl to be this terrifying; she was definitely not someone to provoke.
Long Mengting then looked toward the snowmen she had built, and she was shocked.
The two snowmen had stood up, embraced each other, and were exuding the aura of G-rank supernatural entities.
They then began to dance in front of everyone. As they danced, they inexplicably started to sing.
"You love me, I love you~"
Long Mengting recognized the song; it was one she had accidentally played while building them. Had these things actually learned it?
However, as they danced, the snowmen twisted their heads 360 degrees to look at the workers. Their smiles widened, and they ran toward the group of workers, clearly intending to have a feast.
Long Mengting simply clenched her small fist and punched them each once. Do snowmen count as people?
"Those are Feng Tianlin’s workers! Do you dare touch them?"
The two snowmen were stunned after being hit, but upon seeing the workers again, they immediately rushed toward the group once more.
Good grief, how hungry were they?
The servants in the manor who had become supernatural entities had been ordered by Feng Tianlin not to attack ordinary people, but these two had just been created, and Long Mengting lacked the ability to control other supernatural entities.
With no other choice, she extended her Horror Claws, preparing to put her two creations out of their misery.
Suddenly, a powerful aura enveloped the area, originating from deep beneath the manor.
Long Mengting looked down, her face unreadable. "Kaiyuan Realm?"
She could sense from this aura that it was the same type of creature that had attacked Fernanda earlier—a vampire.
At this moment, the Bursting Berserker Bear and Chi Mei, who had been loafing around, walked out.
Chi Mei came to Long Mengting’s side and spoke slowly. "There seems to be something underground. This aura is at least Kaiyuan."
Her expression was grave, as if she were prepared to lure the enemy.
"Judging by the aura, it should be similar to Qi Xuan—a Kaiyuan Realm Level 4 supernatural entity. But the aura is very faint; it seems to be sleeping." The Bursting Berserker Bear analyzed calmly while looking downward.
Upon hearing this, Long Mengting excitedly raised her Horror Claws. "Sleeping? Isn't that perfect? Strike while the iron is hot!"
With that, she began digging.
Chi Mei, being a ghost, had a cheat code—she simply sank directly into the ground. Not having a physical form certainly had its perks.
But before Chi Mei could reach the bottom, the aura changed, becoming extremely aggressive.
"Damn it! The thing underneath has woken up!" Long Mengting reacted instantly, leaping backward.
Just as she jumped, the entire ground collapsed, and a white woman with black wings flew out.
Given the vampire's complexion, even a Black person would probably have skin no different from a white person's in this state.
The female vampire looked drowsy. She sniffed the air, looked at Long Mengting, and spoke in the Hua-Xia language.
"Are you a zombie from Hua-Xia?"
Long Mengting retracted her Horror Claws and said with disdain, "Does that have anything to do with you?"
No sooner had Long Mengting finished speaking than the vampire, who had been in the sky a second ago, pinned her to the ground.
"So you are indeed from Hua-Xia? I despise everything about your country!" Her voice was shrill, seemingly filled with rage.
In that instant, Long Mengting used her "Vanishing" ability and truly disappeared into thin air. The vampire’s hand grabbed nothing but empty space.
However, the vampire did not seem surprised; she simply stretched her limbs.
"Your Hua-Xia tricks are the same as they were thousands of years ago—full of schemes."
With that, countless bats flew out from under her wings, rushing down in an overwhelming swarm.
Seeing this, Long Mengting and the others felt their hearts sink. How were they supposed to play this? The gap in strength was simply too great.
Sure enough, they didn't last long before they were entangled by the swarm of bats, unable to escape.
