These words jolted Feng Tianlin into realization—of course, only a human should treat a human. He waved his hand. “Go and have a look.”

The human approached, scrutinizing carefully, asking him to stick out his tongue, turning his eyelids, and finally came to a conclusion. “You’re just too tired. A good sleep will fix you.”

Hearing this, Feng Tianlin was suddenly enlightened. Strange creatures didn’t need sleep, so he had almost forgotten that humans did. As for Cheng Lian, it went without saying—he had been a bizarre being for hundreds of years and had never slept.

Though he’d never slept himself, upon hearing the verdict, he understood: humans were supposed to sleep at night.

Feng Tianlin smiled helplessly. “You, take him to rest. If he wakes up hungry or thirsty, look after him.”

To be personally ordered by Feng Tianlin—this was an honor for the human, who felt his value had soared. He quickly accepted the task.

“Don’t worry, I’m the best at looking after people!” he said, and promptly led Cheng Lian away.

Only then did Feng Tianlin notice that all his followers had reached B-rank. He couldn’t help but praise them. “You’ve all leveled up quickly.”

Long Mengting stood with hands on her hips, proud. “Naturally! I made sure that human fixed the television only after I completed all my daily quotas.”

The Explosive Berserk Bear’s voice remained mechanical. “I was on the brink during the last great battle. Today, after absorbing some emotions at the bizarre emotion factory, I broke through.”

The Specter floated in the air. “I can use my sixteen souls to help me absorb; I broke through long ago.”

Feng Tianlin managed a wry smile. “Alright, only I’m left. Today, I’ll break through too—then we’ll go and devour Spirit City.”

At that moment, the orange tabby cat wriggled free from Long Mengting’s grasp, darted to Feng Tianlin, and fixed its gaze on the direction Cheng Lian had departed.

“That human just now is suspicious, meow~”

Feng Tianlin glanced at him. “Hmm? What’s wrong?”

“He carries an ancient aura, and one of ill intent, meow~”

Feng Tianlin was momentarily stunned. The ancient aura was understandable—but ill intent? That was odd.

“You can sense that?”

“Of course, meow~ Anyway, that man definitely means no good. Be careful, meow~” The orange cat licked its paw as it spoke.

Feng Tianlin nodded, falling into thought. Without the cat’s warning, he wouldn’t have given it a second thought, but after hearing this, he too felt something was off about Cheng Lian—though he couldn’t pinpoint what. Best to be cautious.

But the most urgent matter now was to conquer Spirit City. Fan Tianxing had brought so many top fighters to defeat him, only for Feng Tianlin to consume them all. Their strength must be greatly diminished—this was the perfect opportunity to expand his territory.

However, one thing was even more pressing than the attack on Spirit City: breaking through to B-rank.

He went to the former site of the Tianjing City Bureau of Bizarre Creatures, found the Demon Puppet, assigned him the task of preparing for the assault, and then plunged into the factory of terrifying emotions.

Meanwhile, outside Spirit City, the city’s garrison commander was in discussion with a B-rank Spirit Tamer.

“You really won’t stay behind?” he asked, inadvertently angering the Spirit Tamer.

“Are you trying to get yourself killed? Don’t drag us down with you. The bizarre creatures of Tianjing City are far more terrifying than you can imagine! The Dao Alliance people fled long ago under the guise of protecting a genius. We’ve done enough by keeping the bizarre creatures in check while you evacuate civilians. You want us to stay?”

“But the evacuation isn’t complete. Most who remain are the elderly, the infirm…”

“Not our problem! They need to solve their own issues. For now, the bizarre creatures in Spirit City won’t make any big moves. You have enough time for evacuation. Forget the ordinary people—run for your lives.”

Having said this, the Spirit Tamer boarded a car and left with the others. These were the people Fan Tianxing had requested from above; their sole task was to suppress the bizarre creatures in the city during his campaign to reclaim Tianjing. They felt no attachment to this land.

The motorcade sped away, leaving only the commander and his chief of staff behind.

The chief of staff sneered. “Spirit Tamers, huh? Cowards, the lot of them!”

The commander sighed. “Everyone has their fate. Spirit City has been abandoned—who can blame them?”

He looked toward the evacuees. Most were unable to walk unaided and had to be carried onto vehicles one by one by the soldiers, making the process painfully slow.

“Maybe those bizarre creatures aren’t planning to attack Spirit City,” the commander tried to comfort himself.

His chief of staff fell silent as well. Now, all they could do was hope these creatures wouldn’t attack too soon.

Inside a terrifying emotion factory in Tianjing City, time passed slowly. Feng Tianlin, alone amidst the darkness and the screams, absorbed the terror all around him. After an hour, he opened his jewel-like eyes.

His aura had changed—he had advanced from C-rank to B-rank.

“Is the gap between C and B so vast?” Amazed at the surge in strength, he realized the higher the rank, the greater the gulf between each level.

He rose calmly, smiling as he stepped out. Outside, bizarre creatures stood in rows, heads bowed, awaiting orders.

They were arrayed neatly amid the ruins, their auras steady and powerful. Even with their heads down, Feng Tianlin could sense their overwhelming bloodlust as he stood above them.

He smiled in satisfaction, his gaze sharp. Summoning the Ghost Train, he raised his small hand. “Let’s go! To Spirit City!”

The Ghost Train was enormous, and under Feng Tianlin’s control, the taboos of each carriage were nullified. Five carriages could easily hold over five hundred bizarre creatures.

Once he’d set the coordinates in the control room, Feng Tianlin turned to the orange tabby at his side. “Do you smell any danger?”

The orange cat, sprawled on the floor, rolled over and lay on its stomach. “No, only the scent of victory, meow~”

“Good.” Feng Tianlin picked up the microphone and addressed the entire train.

“We’re going to Spirit City for three things: conquest, conquest, and more damn conquest!”

A thunderous cheer erupted throughout the train. Seeing morale soar, Feng Tianlin wasted no more words and activated the teleport.

“Damn, we arrived outside the city.” The Ghost Train materialized in the sky above Spirit City’s gates. Feng Tianlin clicked his tongue—he still wasn’t skilled at setting the coordinates.

Then, explosions rang out as the train shook violently. Looking out the window, Feng Tianlin saw that the human army was firing artillery at them.

“All ordinary people? Don’t they know physical attacks don’t work on us?” Feng Tianlin muttered, then drove the train downward.

More than five hundred bizarre creatures poured from the train, facing off directly against the tens of thousands of troops below. The battle was about to begin!
