Chapter 130: Quite Strong

Four thousand miles of sea resounded with the roars of dragons!
The sea-beast followers surging through the depths once again encountered a barrage of artillery fire!
“Boom!”
“Boom!”
Under that terrifying firepower, the entire ocean seemed to tremble. One sea-beast follower after another charging toward the steel wall wailed as blinding flashes and violent explosions reduced them to mangled flesh.
“How did they know we were here?”
At the rear, shielded by layer upon layer of more than a thousand powerful sea beasts, the Swordfish Chosen One stared in disbelief, its eyes wide with shock.
The ocean was their world!
In theory, once they had submerged, the humans should have been completely unable to see them!
Yet the bombardment was uncannily precise, as though an invisible eye had pierced through the ocean’s barrier and fixed its gaze upon them.
The sensation chilled the Swordfish Chosen One to the bone.
“Forget how they saw us. We have to break through now! There’s no way back!” The Shark Chosen One’s eyes gleamed with savagery. “If the seawater can’t conceal us, then we’ll charge the wall head-on through their weapons!”
“As long as we get up there!”
“Those timid, feeble humans who only dare hide behind their wall will be nothing more than food for us to devour at will!”
As it spoke, it charged forward as well. Its roar became a strange vibration in the seawater, carrying to every sea-beast follower.
“Charge! Let those humans learn what we’re capable of!”
Watching the shark warriors charge toward the steel wall beneath the artillery barrage, the Swordfish Chosen One shouted, “Are you insane? We are Chosen Ones! If we die… You brainless fool, come back!”
“Stop shouting.” The Octopus Chosen One spoke coldly from nearby. “We can’t keep hiding behind the others.”
“Those humans possess eyes capable of seeing through seawater. If we remain at the rear, they may target us directly. The safest place now is among the ordinary sea-beast followers!”
With that, the Octopus Chosen One let out a loud roar and charged forward alongside the octopus warriors.
The Swordfish Chosen One froze for a moment.
Chosen Ones were the bonds connecting their races to the gods.
Once a Chosen One died, that race would temporarily be unable to leave the divine realm and fight for its patron god in other worlds. They could only wait until the god selected a new Chosen One and bestowed glory and blessings upon them.
Thus, in battles of the past, the Chosen Ones had always remained at the rear while the sea-beast followers surged ahead to fight and kill.
But this time…
“Those damned humans…” it cursed furiously, yet it knew that the Octopus Chosen One was right. Without another word, it joined the ordinary sea-beast followers and charged through the artillery fire.
“Tear those ants apart!”
Elsewhere.
On the wall roaring with cannon fire—
Watching the densely packed points of light racing toward them on the sonar display transmitted by the Technical Intelligence Department, Elder Gold seized a radio and shouted, “You little brats! Those bastards on the other side know we can see them!”
“They’re charging straight at us through the bombardment without a care in the world!”
“Now that both sides have shown their cards, they want to gamble on whether our firepower is stronger or their speed is faster!”

“Stay sharp! If anyone misses, I’ll kick his ass when we get back! Anyone who shoots well gets promoted on the spot! Kill two and I’ll give you a platoon; kill ten and I’ll give you a company!”
Hearing the old general’s roar, the soldiers instantly felt as though they had been injected with stimulants. Their adrenaline surged once more.
“Yes, sir!”
“Maximum firepower!”
“Erzhuzi, reload faster!”
“Air units, reload immediately and prepare for another bombing run!”
At that moment, one soldier laughed and shouted, “Elder Gold, what if I kill every last one of these sea beasts?”
“Then I’ll kick Lin Fan out and make you commander-in-chief! Believe me or not!” Elder Gold answered with boisterous confidence as the heavy cannons thundered.
At the same time, while Elder Gold and fifty million soldiers unleashed the firepower they had prepared upon the charging sea-beast followers from atop the wall—
“Vmmm!”
The instant Lin Fan leaped forward, he seemed to transform into an Azure Dragon. A brilliant, icy blade-light wrapped in peerless might swept straight ahead.
Seeing the trident rushing toward him, swelling rapidly in his vision and wreathed in divine power, Lin Fan’s eyes turned bloodshot. He swung his blade with all his strength.
“Get the hell back!”
“Clang!”
Accompanied by a furious roar, the Azure Dragon Saber, carrying overwhelming blade intent and tremendous force, crashed down upon the trident!
A strike from a demigod!
At that moment, the sound of the blade shook heaven and earth.
But—
“Vmmm!”
The trident did not stop. Instead, it drove Lin Fan backward through the air!
The terrifying power within it was not human.
It had even surpassed the limits of humanity.
It was the power of a god!
Vast oceanic divine power churned across its surface like wave after wave crashing against the Azure Dragon Saber. With every impact, that tremendous force shook Lin Fan’s internal organs.
It was like a tiny ant standing before a colossal wave!
With the might of a single thrust, the trident forced Lin Fan backward the entire way.
“Damn it—back off!”
Lin Fan’s eyes were blood-red. Refusing to release the Azure Dragon Saber, he braced himself against that terrifying force and shouted like a madman.
Just then—
“Amitabha.”

A Buddhist invocation rang out.
Boundless Buddhist light burst forth!
Within that radiant light, the Compassionate Master stood amid auspicious clouds, gripping his monk’s staff with both hands and bringing it down upon the trident like a colossal hammer.
Behind the Compassionate Master, the phantom of a white-robed monk raised its staff and struck down as well.
“Boom!”
The impact resounded through the heavens, as though ten thousand mountains had crashed down at once.
Mr. Mo Buchi also soared into the air. The scholarly aura around him linked heaven and earth, while his sonorous voice rang across the sea:
“Oh, how perilous—the road to Shu, more difficult than climbing to the blue sky…”
The righteous spirit of literature stirred heaven and earth. A vast mountain range gathered around his body, majestic and immense.
The towering Shu Mountains!
Bearing the weight of mountains, that colossal range crashed down upon the trident, as though seeking to suppress it completely.
Yet the trident still did not stop!
“Roar!”
A thunderous cry rang out.
A snowman chieftain and more than a dozen steel birds, each two meters tall, beat their wings and seized at the trident. Even so, they failed to halt it.
Until—
“Swish!”
Two swords, one above and one below, slashed into the trident.
The Immortal-Slaying Sword rose from beneath, its sword-light soaring into the heavens.
The Fish-Belly Sword descended from above, appearing out of thin air without a sound.
“Bang!”
At last, the trident was sent flying backward.
It drifted lightly back into the hand of the goddess standing proudly upon the surface of the sea.
“Whew…” Suppressing the soreness in his hands, Lin Fan frowned deeply at the goddess and asked in a low voice, “Is everyone all right?”
“We’re fine.” Behind Lin Fan, Dao Wanzhi formed hand seals, while the Immortal-Slaying Sword circled beside him.
The Compassionate Master and Gongshu Ming sat upon a steel skylark beating its wings. From Lin Fan’s left, they spoke softly.
“This one is very strong.”
Strong.
Incredibly strong!
That was the God-Slaying Army squad’s initial assessment of the god before them.
