Chapter Sixty-Four: You Understand This Now, Don’t You?
"Great Xia sends you its regards!"
This was the vengeance of Great Xia!
Looking at the youth before him, the Lion sensed a primal danger.
Yet he suddenly burst out laughing, his burly form towering over the somewhat frail young man. With a booming voice, he said, "Arrogant child of Great Xia, perhaps you are mistaken—"
"Wait," Lin Fan interrupted, handing over his phone.
The Lion was silent for a moment, then took the phone and spoke into it in English, laughing wildly: "Arrogant child of Great Xia, perhaps you are mistaken. This is our territory!"
With those words, the Lion returned the phone to Lin Fan.
Truth be told, the tension before the impending battle became strangely bizarre for a moment...
Just as Lin Fan read the translated words, the burly youth suddenly let out a roar so fierce it was almost inhuman.
Like the furious bellow of a lion!
His muscles bulged instantly, tearing through his clothes as his body seemed to swell in size.
A terrifying aura spread. Sharp claws grew from his fingers, and he gazed down at Lin Fan, howling, "Here will be your—"
His words were abruptly cut off.
A cold gleam sliced through the night.
It flashed from below, piercing upward through his body!
The Lion's savage grin froze, terror reflected in his eyes as he instinctively touched his chest.
A blood-red line appeared, slashing from top to bottom, slicing through his massive frame!
"You—" The Lion stared blankly at the youth before him.
Before he could finish, his body split in two, collapsing to the ground in a spray of blood and flesh!
The short dagger dripped blood.
Lin Fan gazed impassively at the now-halved brute, frowning slightly. "What did those last words mean?"
How regretful it was not to have mastered the necessary language.
He resolved to find an opportunity to truly learn English.
It wasn't so much for communication with foreigners, but rather because it deprived him of so many chances to show off.
Besides, they were about to fight, yet he had to take out his phone for translation—a real mood killer.
At that moment,
the commotion attracted the attention of several people in the lobby.
"Lion?"
"What happened?"
But,
there was no response from the doorway.
---
The young men and women playing cards sensed something was amiss. Hearing no reply from the Lion, they instinctively tossed aside their cards and stood up to investigate.
They saw a young man with an Eastern face, carrying a blood-stained dagger, walk in from the porch, grinning, "He's not moving anymore..."
The group of white youths stared at Lin Fan, bewildered and tense.
"What?"
"What are you saying?"
"Where's the Lion? How did you get in here? Who are you?"
Faced with their wariness,
Lin Fan's smile faltered, and he touched his nose in awkward embarrassment. "Uh, you probably don't understand what I'm saying."
"But this, you should be able to grasp."
His smile vanished, replaced by a chilling murderous intent. He raised the bloody dagger and pointed it at the youths before him.
"Great Xia sends you its regards."
A murderous aura filled the air!
This time, the young men and women understood him.
Seeing Lin Fan's gesture, they instantly grasped his meaning!
"Enemy—he's the enemy!"
"Great Xia's vengeance!"
"The Lion must have been killed by him!"
The group exchanged quick glances; their leader suddenly shouted in English, "Avenge the Lion!"
With that,
he thrust out both hands, as if controlling unseen forces.
The metal trays on the table rattled, decorative swords on the wall rose into the air!
Even several handguns floated up, their muzzles aimed at Lin Fan!
It was as if an invisible giant hand manipulated everything!
"Metal-type Esper?" Lin Fan frowned, feeling even his dagger tremble, as if it might fly from his grasp.
Metal-type Espers
were notoriously difficult to deal with.
"You dare invade our Phoenix Society, despicable child of Great Xia! You will pay for your sneak attack!" The Metal-type Esper's voice was icy. He seemed aware of Lin Fan's danger, floating metal trays around Lin Fan, forming a vague encirclement.
Lin Fan was in a perilous situation.
From every direction, killing intent surrounded him.
Especially his dagger, which was barely under control, as if it might slip from his grasp at any moment.
A weapon that could not be wielded—no need to explain what that meant for a warrior.
Lin Fan's combat ability dropped by thirty percent.
But,
in that moment—
---
Lin Fan laughed, "Watch your back."
The Metal-type Esper blinked, unable to understand what Lin Fan meant...
But in the next instant,
A shadow flashed from the darkness behind him.
A Tang blade gleamed, streaking by like a meteor.
Hidden Starfall Gate—Starlight Night!
The blade's radiance appeared without warning; the razor-sharp Tang blade sliced cleanly through the Esper's neck, then vanished again into the shadows.
Starlight Night struck silently and disappeared once more, the only trace a fleeting glimpse of a ponytail whipping through the air.
The Hidden Starfall Gate was the ancestor of all ninja clans in the land of Kameida!
Clatter.
The floating metal objects lost their control, falling to the ground.
Thud!
The Metal-type Esper's head rolled to the floor.
In that moment, as he felt the weightlessness and dizzying spin, the Esper finally understood the words the young man from the East had uttered earlier.
"Watch your back."
But he realized it too late.
Time seemed to freeze.
The Phoenix Society members, once raging with fury, now were consumed by terror.
They had no idea what had just happened; two comrades were already dead!
And now,
With the Metal-type Esper gone, Lin Fan gripped his dagger tightly and flashed a chilling smile at the stunned white youths.
"Now,
all of you, come at me together. I'm pressed for time."
Though they didn't understand his words, the Phoenix Society members knew what he intended. They exchanged glances.
A white youth suddenly lunged at Lin Fan, his body erupting with terrifying speed so fast his form blurred!
Eighth-tier, Speed-type Esper!
A noble rapier stabbed at Lin Fan's throat at incredible velocity!
Meanwhile, a black woman grabbed a deck of cards from the table and flung them with force!
Cards scattered like snowflakes, spinning toward Lin Fan, their edges as sharp as blades.
Another brown-haired youth clenched an iron block in his right hand, and his body began to shimmer with metallic luster, transforming from his right hand into solid iron!
